When reading braille, there are different ways to actualy scan your fingers along the lines. Both methods have certain advantages that could make reading Braille easier to understand. Knowing the method that is best for you will make reading Braille a much more convenient activity for daily life.
The first method I would like to describe starts with you placing both pointer fingers at the top left line. You will then leave your left finger at the beginning, using your right to drag across the line and read. Once you have reached the end of the line, you will bring your right finger back to the left. After both fingers are together, drag them to the next line and repeat the steps above.
The next method will use both pointer fingers at the same time. After placing both pointer fingers at the top left, you will then slide them both to the right. Once you have gone through the whole line, drag both fingers to the start of the line. After dropping your fingers down to the next line, repeat the steps above. I believe this method is great because it makes it easier to understand the braille characters but, it can be easier to lose track of your position.
After exploring both of these methods, you will be able to read braille in a more comfortable way. Further, this will increase your reading speed with practice. Simple adjustments such as these can go a long way.
